A Glance At Your Expected Journey In Turkey
Warm welcoming from Silian Paris Clinic at the airport. Depending on your arrival time, you are either taken to your 4-5 stars hotel or directly to the hospital for your consultation.
The First Day
- You will have an in-person consultation with your surgeon before your surgery. And discuss your eyelid surgery in detail.
- You will sign a consent form.
- General medical tests that your surgeon will perform such as blood tests before your eyelid surgery.
- Undergo eyelid surgery which usually takes around 1-2 hours.
- Your surgeon will do the initial check-ups when you regain your consciousness after anesthesia.
- If you only had upper eyelid surgery, you will be discharged on the same day. If you have a lower eyelid or both, you will spend the night at our internationally accredited, high-quality hospital.
The Second Day (in case you needed to stay the night in the hospital)
- Your second check-up before you are discharged from the hospital. Your surgeon will explain post-operation care in detail.
- Your surgeon gives permission for you to be discharged from the hospital.
- You will be transferred from the hospital to the hotel by your private car and private chauffeur
The Third Day
- Who does not like lazy days in bed? It’s better to rest and relax and not to do any physical activities that may tire you.
The 4th Day
- You can continue enjoying the comfort of your hotel or go out and do some sightseeing to enjoy Istanbul, the city of two continents!
The 5th Day
- A Final check-up with your surgeon again.
- You will have a detailed post-operative treatment plan as well as a safe-to-fly survey.
- Private car to airport enjoying the ride in Istanbul.
- Back home with your new look and surely with a great experience at Silians Paris Clinic in Turkey.
Aftercare Guidelines
- Do not take any blood thinner medicines.
- Avoid smoking for two weeks before and after surgery. Because smoking delays the healing process and increases the risk of complications.
- Avoid alcohol when taking pain medications. Even if you are not taking pain medications, it is advisable to avoid alcohol for 3 weeks. As it can cause fluid retention which may worsen the swelling.
- Do not eat or drink anything 8 hours before your surgery.
- All metals and artificial belongings should be removed during anesthesia. Thus, please do not wear them or remove them before surgery.
- Do not wear make-up or apply any kind of lotion, cream alıke substances on your face.
- Sleep and rest in an upright position.
- Swelling in the eyelids is very normal, and your eyes may feel hard to open. The swelling actually peaks at 48 hours after surgery and then begins to decrease.
- Using ice compression during the first 48 hours is very helpful for swelling.
- Bruising takes about 2 full weeks to completely resolve. It also depends on your body and aftercare.
- You may walk at any point. But hard level exercise should not be done for 2 weeks as it can raise your blood pressure. After that period, you may begin to work up to your normal exercise routine, but please begin slowly.
- Strictly avoid sun exposure, you can wear sunglasses right after your discharge.
- You can wear eye make-up to cover bruising after 10-14 days
- You can start driving after 5 days. But for long drives, wait for 2 weeks.
- It is best to wait for 1 month before going in a hot tub or pool. They typically contain bacteria.
- Normal swelling after eyelid surgery usually takes 6-8 weeks to completely resolve. You will have better final results 12 weeks after surgery.
